Founder Catherine Chen has been living in skyscrapers the past 10 years. She likes big city noise, lights, and people. She doesn't own a car, uses Uber or the public transportation. She walks to the grocery store, flower shop and coffee shop. To her, it's all about convenience.
In 2018, she wasn’t home during the delivery of a big but light luggage that she bought on Amazon. She had to Uber to a warehouse far away from downtown to pick up the luggage. Yes, you heard it right - her condo building imposed size and weight restrictions on packages. The whole trip cost her $75, and her time, one hour!
Last year, Catherine's neighbor asked her to help with big and heavy online deliveries: a big dining table, litter-robot self-cleaning litter box and cat litter. Her neighbor is a busy working lawyer and couldn’t take time off during the day.
It made her wonder whether it was a problem for people who live in apartment and condo buildings. It turned out that many landlords refused to accept package deliveries for the tenants in big cities such as New York and Houston.
That's why MyShoperon was born, and was built by shoppers for shoppers!
